I think that this organization that uses military veterans to run fisheries in California is a great idea. Environmentally, it maintains the number of fish that are harvested environmentally as well as those fore recreational. Socially, it is putting people with possible mental and physical disabilities into stable safe paying jobs. NOAA’s funding of this program reflects directly onto NOAA as a caring organization that puts the well-being of other before their own personal gain. These fisheries are to contain trout as well as several other fish species. The fish will grow and be killed for their meat later on. More organizations need to do what NOAA does, and help people before themselves while being considerate of the environment around them.
